But what about fond memories you say?
Yes, even fond ones.
Memories of a loved one who has passed on, childhood friends, the birth of a child – all very fond memories. But you should treat them like carbs for your personal development – best consumed in moderation.
Dwelling on emotional visions of the past is harmful. It hardwires our brains to perpetuate comforting beliefs based on faulty information. It slows forward movement.
Like all other biological elements, science now tells us memories deteriorate over time. As we struggle to keep them alive we inadvertently fill in the lost pieces with new, often revised, information. They are no longer the complete truth.
Fond memories can be beautiful. Treat them like little gifts you give yourself in moderation. 🧡
